Employees tend to think about their salary in annual terms.
They “earn” £xxxx/year.
But few think about that annual salary broken down into daily and hourly rates.
Why might it be useful for them to do so?
Two excellent reasons are provided in The Time Management Issue.
Both are suggested to help readers see their time, value and productivity when at work in a different light.
One in which they have more control over circumstances.
The phrase “That’s above my pay grade,” is popular in movies and on TV.
It always strikes me as a bit of cop-out.
Be more aspirational but also, don’t do things that are below your pay grade.
You can’t know what those things are that you shouldn’t be doing, if you don’t know the value of an hour of your time.
