Where people gather, there will be,
Politics, plotting, unrest and possibly even treachery.
There may be laughter and celebrations, too, but don’t count on it.
Just ask our soon-to-depart Prime Minister, or Julius Caesar for that matter.
People management isn’t easy.
That’s because teams are made of people with different personalities and outlooks.
There will be good mixers. There may also be isolationists.
You may have a disruptor or two in the mix.
There may be cliques, teams within a team.
Somehow, a manager has to knit their disparate group together.
They must harmonise all the different strains running through the team,
And restore balance when team members move on.
Despite all of the above, leading a team is one of the most satisfying parts of management.
It gets even better when you turn around a team that’s not underperforming or failing.
That’s the subject of The Team Turnaround Issue.
So, if you want to be a leader, and an excellent one to boot, this issue of The Quietly Good Newsletter will be very helpful.
If you’d like to know more about what’s covered, see this page on our website.
Very best,
