“Fear drains people. Purpose fuels them. When employees stay, it shapes the energy they bring every day. The goal is to make sure employees stay for the right reasons.”
Justin Angsuwat, Chief People Officer at Culture Amp

What kind of leader do you want to be?

One that fosters fear, or one that fuels purpose in your team.

You have the choice; you just need to decide, despite the circumstances you find yourself in or inherit.

If you lead in a fearful way,

Where you’re scared to make decisions or scared to try, you’ll likely transmit that feeling to the team.

They will also be scared to make decisions.

They will also look for ways to avoid being held responsible for mistakes.

Either theirs, or those that might occur within their team or department.

Lead with a positive, trusting, and can-do outlook, and there will be a very different feeling among those you lead, whether one or a thousand.

And if you want to turn around a team that’s currently feeling fearful or beat up, see this page.

It describes the content you’ll find within Quietly Good’s Team Turnaround issue
