Who are the quietly good in your company?
I’m talking about the people who, without fanfare and noise, regularly deliver quality work.
These are the employees your clients might mention when you talk to them.
Clients who love that their reports are always on time or that they get fast responses to their questions. Unlike some other employees, those clients could mention.
Every business has these quiet superstars, but sadly, only a few recognise their value.
That’s because the QG will rarely push you for promotion or bonuses, even when they deserve them.
If you’re cynical, you might say, “More fool them,” but,
If you’re sensible, you’ll start paying more attention to these business assets.
Because that’s what they are.
With their deep product and client knowledge, they could probably tell you ways to improve things that you haven’t thought about.
Or why you keep getting complaints or negative feedback from a particular client.
If you don’t talk to them, you’ll never know.
Neglect these individuals at your peril.
Losing them will be damaging to your business, in the very short term at least, and perhaps way beyond.
You and they can do better than that, especially if you follow the advice in this issue of The Quietly Good newsletter.
